So, this week I am photographing my art that I have ready to seal and varnish. In addition to that, I am going to clean and organize the studio. I also got a new kind of acrylic paint made by Lucas CRYL. I plan to see how I like this paint and I will get back to you on it. Yeah, I am going to be putting myself back out there. I have been gone from the scene for far too long. I have a great short film to direct and possibly act in. I also am back to painting and want to get that out into the world and sell it.
Yeah, I don’t see myself as a filmmaker, writer or painter. I am a creative. Creating is what I do and I do it in many different ways. I just saw Taika Waititi’s Ted Talk he did in Doha. He explained how he was not one thing but many things. His talent was creativity. We are all creative. You are creative whether you recognize it or not. Find the outlets that let you express that creativity. It may be just one thing or many. I am getting back into filmmaking, but I recognize that there is more to my creative output than just film. I paint, photograph, make multi medium pieces, direct, act, write, produce and what other ways I can find to express myself.
You are all creatives, regardless of what you’ve been told. Get out there and create. I know many of you are very busy and that is fine. You can carve out an hour or two just for you to create. And don’t feel guilty about either. You need some you time.. A good way to self care is by creating. Trust me. Get out there and make something
Ok enough for now. I will be writing here a lot more often.
WOW, it has been a while. Almost two years since I last posted. The past two years were not as productive as I would like it to be. So, what is going with me? Well I have started back into painting and we are working on Dumbsaints. Ken Anthony and myself met with the owner of the Flamingo Sports Bar. The same bar that Jack Kerouac would be drinking at. We are now trying to link up with the Kerouac estate to get permission to shoot in the backyard of Jack’s house which is in St Petersburg. If anyone is interested in helping make this contact me.
I am painting again. I am blessed enough to have a small studio in my house, and I converted a bedroom into a studio, and I am teaching myself how to paint and create art. For me, I taught myself how to swim, how to drive, and filmmaking so why not teach painting. I also have done multi-medium sculpture in the past and I want to explore that again.
I took a free course with Louise Fletcher, and I learned a lot from it and I plan to next year to take her full course. I also joined an art community started by Rafi Perez and Klee Angelie. We are rogue artists for sure. If you want to follow them go to their patreon page look them up. They do a podcast and members of their patreon page get to get in there Discord page and live streams.
If you are an artist look into joining and join a collective of creatives this is it.. Also, checkout Louise Fletcher and Alice Sheredon podcast Art Juice. Excellent art podcast. Also, look for Rafi and Klee’s podcast. They are both on Podbean.

Hey all. After a long hiatus I am back here to share with you what is going on with me, 11 Bang Bang and Dumbsaints. As for me I slugging away. I have an art show in May that I am working on, and I am leading a veterans’ mental health advocacy group. I also have a radio show that I am pretty proud of. As far as 11 Bang Bang goes, I am working on the incorporation of 11BB. We are looking for people to invest in our production company. At least get us up and running. We have 2 solid projects in the works, and we also want to do a web series in the near future. This will help us break into TV which is something I really want to do. Well all are doing a crash course in crowdfunding and social media. We each a 3 books from Seed & Sparks; which is the crowdfunding platform we will be raising money from. I am growing my hair out so I can play Jack Kerouac.
Also I have to go to the media about my arrest and give them the facts about my arrest. I have to get that out before the crowdfunding campaign. The record is wrong and I have to fix it.

I am going to be writing here a lot more. I really need to invest time in my writing. And there is a lot to write about, and not all of it is about film and art.
And one last thing, we are looking for a female filmmaker who a producer producer/director. We want female input to what we are doing.
So I been thinking about what I want to accomplish year. This past year was not my been my strongest. I feel I failed in many ways. The film I am developing got put on hold, I was not committed to this blog like I should, I did not get my production company up and running and didn’t make much art. So I am not happy with myself.
That being said I want the this year to be amazing. Make the year a new start for me. I have given some thought to what I want to do and here is what I have so far: Grow personally. I am starting to work on improving me. My Health, my work and my personal life. I have started to get into Robin Sharma on how to become the best me I possible can be. I think that it doesn’t hurt to get into self improvement. God knows I need too.
This blog: Yes I used to write in this blog often, but have gotten away from it. I want to build this blog back up and turn it into a leading film blog. I want to share my journey as a filmmaker, artist and as a creative. Then there is giving you readers information you can use out there. Things I find. I also am going to have guest writers like Ken Anthony help provide content. I will be shooting for over 200 post this. Ambitious yes., but I think you’ll all get a lot out of it. A few years ago Ted Hope had Hope for Film blog. I got so much out of it and learned a lot. I want to do the same thing with this blog for you.
Production Company: This is the year I officially start my production company. That means making it a legal entity. People will go around claiming they have a production company yet it is not a legal company; which means they do not really have a production company. Filmmaking is a business as well as an art form. When I think about projects I am thinking in two art forms: the art of telling a story visually and the art of business. It is important that you think this way. It helps give you realistic picture of what you can do when making your film.
Film Projects: Right now I have two film project: one is a short about a writer that is having an existential crisis who talks to the ghost of Jack Kerouac and my film dealing with sexual violence in the form of sex trafficking and combat veterans issues. I took a long break from this project. I am now coming back to it. I have to finish researching it and then write. I will have a first draft in 4 months. After rewrites, I will then package the film and start looking for investors. I want to start shooting this film at around the end of this year. Now for the short, the goal is to shoot it in May. This gives us enough time to raise capital to shoot it, do perproduction and then shoot it. I will also be playing Jack Kerouac. I have already started to grow my hair out for the role and reading up on Jack. We will be submitting this film to Sundance, SXSW, TriBecca and TIFF. We have that kind of confidence in this film to submit it into those film festivals. We have a great screenplay and talented people working on it. One of them is Ken Anthony who will be a producer.
Advocacy: Another thing I will be doing is advocacy work. One of the reasons I am a filmmaker is that it allows me to talk about issues I care about. One of those issues is sexual violence. Now on 2011 I started on the feature, and I got very much side tracked, which I will be going into in the near future, and now I am back to working on it. Now the issue has evolved to sex trafficking which is rape for profit and I get to discuss it. Same goes for combat veterans issues. We have been at war and it has taken its toll on many who fought in it. I already do veterans mental health advocacy work here in Tampa, and this film helps me further that discussion to even a larger crowd.
Film Society: Tampa needs a true film society. We have organizations that have film society in there name, yet they do not act like a real film society. They are more like AV clubs with a membership fee, they are not cultural institutions which film societies are suppose to be: They do not have programs that teach media literacy. They do not serve the public interest but only their own. Which is fine, but they are not true film societies. This will be a 501 c3 non-profit organization. It will bring cinema appreciation to the people of the Bay Area. We will start programs that teach media literacy to children in schools. We will celebrate cinema as a community. It will showcase filmmakers like Kurosawa, Hitchcock, Kubrick, Ford Coppola, Sergio Leone, Scorsese, Allen and many more. It will have programs for filmmakers. It will celebrate independent cinema.
Become the Master of my Craft: I am going to learn and become an expert in filmmaking.
This is something I think we all should do. I have numerous books on filmmaking at every level. Thirtbooks.com is your friend. I have gotten many books on filmmaking from thriftbooks and and have been diving into them. I want to know as much as I possible can for a few reasons: One to avert disaster, if you know how do something the right way you will be likely to make costly mistakes. Another reason is it helps you be a better leader. If you have knowledge in a certain, you can speak and lead with authority. You can help other and give guidance. Most of all be helpful to others, and it is also about being a professional. Professionals know their craft and know it well. And of course it betters my chances of success.
I am looking for an editor. I think it would benefit me greatly.
And soon I am going to explain the events of February 2013 that had much to do with my film.

So I haven’t been on here is a while. Since March I think. Anyways, here is what is going on, I had stopped working on film for a while, but now I am back at it. I am back to researching and developing my film on sexual violence and combat veteran issues, as well as starting to do character bio’s. I am also planning my production company that I want to start when the screenplay is finished and it is time to raise capital to make it.
I am also going to be working on a some ideas for series that will be either for TV or the web. If I do a web series, it is with the hope that it does well enough to gain the attention of a network. Hi HBO. I heart you. I have a few ideas in mind, one of which is set here in Tampa and uses the Tampa Bay and its people as a back drop. Tampa has a great music and art scene. As far as the film scene goes it lacks desperately. You have a lot of monkeys with cameras running around making substandard films. But, thankfully, there are a few talented people making interesting, quality work.
I also have started to paint again. What got me going again is that I was commissioned to do a piece. This has gotten back to painting a series of paintings. I plan on having enough work done to be in a show in about 4 to 6 months as well as having the feature written and the production company ready to go. Once I have this all ready to go I plan on putting this out to the media. And those people who know what happened regrading the film on sexual violence and the ordeal I suffered know that this will be a big deal.
