So here is what is new with me: I have been asked by screenwriter and director Tampa Barbra Harrington to be her line producer for her short film Private Dicks. I will be planning and setting up the production. Luckily I have the book called Film Production Management written by Bastian Cleve, which is an excellent book to read on the subject. It has been awhile sense I read it, so I am in rereading it to refresh my memory on what I have to do. What a line producer does is plan and run the production and I need to know ever aseptic of the production. I work the director and department heads in the planning and execution of the production. I also come up with budget, which for this film will be on a shoe string budget.
I will share with you what I learn and the ins and out of the production.
